Hi,
As a MAAT if I provide a service for my clients would I advertise as an accountant or bookkeeper?
Also am i right in saying that I can produce accounts for sole traders, partnerships and LTD's? Do the LTD accounts need to be signed of by accountants or the directors'? I'd say the directors'.
Please help.
Many thanks

Re:Bookkeeper or accountant?
Hello Dikisa.
You would need to register as a Member in Practice, which entails having Professional Indemnity Insurance (which you can obtain through the AAT), professional cover and providing details of relevant experience.
You would then be eligible to advertise on the AAT Members in Practice directory, and be included in the Yellow Pages.
Your scope of work would be limited to your experience, i.e. if you have no experience of preparing accounts you would not be licensed to do so.
Regards.

Re:Bookkeeper or accountant?
Hi Scotty,
Thank you for the info, that is what I thought. think i just wanted some clarification as i was getting a bit nervous starting on my own. A few other people who replied to my thread did make some hurtful comments but I thought these forums were to ask questions and get confirmation on stuff you already know. But never mind it's all helpful info at the end of the day.
