VAT on New Build - Carpets

Simple Question: Can my client reclaim the VAT on carpets as part of the new build project? They will be fitted as part of the property, prior to sale.

Just found the answer to my question. No VAT cannot be reclaimed on carpets, but it can on flooring such as vinyl and wooden floor systems. Why? Who knows! :001_rolleyes:0

If it's new build and the area being covered is communal then I think you can reclaim the VAT? Another subtle point but worth checking.
