Preference for DOC over PDF attachments - why?

I had a document of 1 and a half A4 pages, which could be saved as a 47KB pdf file or a 60KB doc file. The attachment size limits are 19.7KB for pdf and 97.7KB for doc files, so I was forced to attach a larger file than necessary. Unless there are special reasons to discourage people from using PDF, this seems rather unfair and wasteful.
I needed to use an attachment in order to preserve the layout of a table, which is practically impossible in a normal message, BTW.
Perhaps the policy could be reviewed.

Hi,
Apologies for this problem and thanks for pointing it out.
I believe 19.7KB was the default when the forum was installed and the PDF option must have been skipped over in error. (There are quite a few options to vBulletin!)
You can now attach 97.7KB PDF files
Thanks
