Certified Income for Mortgage

Hi

I wonder if someone could help me.

I only have one client and I am unsure whether this is normal.

Recently I have prepared the books and helped fill in the tax return for a local taxi driver.

I have now been asked to certify his gross earning for the last 3 years (I have all the info) for his mortgage application. Obviously, I can only certify the earnings on the information he has given me and the filled tax returns. Has anyone had to do this before? What are the mortgage company looking for? and is there anything I should be aware of?

    Hi Rachel,

    If you visit the MIP toolkit you will find help for this, including a sample letter to send to the lender.
