You don't make it clear as to what job you are/were doing at Barclays but if it is just a cashier's job then I suggest you grab the new job with both hands.

As a 44 year old man with no experience looking for a job in accounts, I know how difficult it is so just go for it. Whatever the job is in MK it sounds like you know it's for you.

    Good luck

    Sorry to hear that.
I have a finance degree and am studying AAT. I find it so hard to get a good job so I can go on to study ACCA without the right experience qualifications are useless.

oh sorry, barclays is just a processing job and the job in mk is aacounts based role, doing vat, final accounts, bookkeeping etc...

my parents dont understand how hard it is to get a a job like this esp as it is accounting.

my parents are the only thing stopping me going

MK offices are also in Birmingham and Telford - is there any chance of transfer???

I've just noticed that you are in Birmingham so I can understand how awkward it must be for your parents. You just have to move away if the job is for you. Find lodgings and enjoy a new life and career. Believe me - you are only young once and you do have youth on your side to bounce back following any unforeseen failure.

As sanna says, why not ask for a transfer to the local branch?

A job in acounts...mmm......how jealous we all are!
Get your parents to read these posts.

Jobs in accounts WITHOUT experience are very hard to find!!
