How do other members feel about the new rules regarding money laundering is going to effect them, especially if working for someone who does not have much of a regard for the law before and is willing to take risks with accepting money even in large amounts.

The new rules
Ethical dilemma for you I'm afraid !

Personally I would tread very carefully in this area and ensure that you follow the new procedures to the letter. The sensitivity to funding terrorism and organised crime has resulted in banks and auditors paying a great deal of attention to large cash transactions as you are no doubt aware. This will be a very difficult legislation to bend.

I guess all you can do is stress that you have a professional obligation to make sure that you follow the rules and if you come under pressure to do otherwise I would consider a move or a new profession.

Not much use I'm afraid but in many of these ethical cases it really is a black and white choice !

David0
