i used revised figures 250.000 and 400.000
-
As for the 100,000 I think you had to assume the contract would not be renewed as the value was in the table at the bottom of the left hand page.
Contributions were 5.15 and 7.75 per machine hour which had to be multiplied by the designated hours (30000 for product A and 40000 for product . Net Profit at the end should have been 200480.
This is all if I've done it right0 -

I got exactly the same so we are either both right or both wrong :tongue_smilie:0 -

I would have thought that if they wanted you to take into account the disposal they would have said in the question that the contract was not going to continue after 3 years but as they said it would be either renewed or sold i dont see how you could be sure at that point. my NPV came to 79780 or something similar. I then mentioned the disposal and how likely it would be that the contract be renewed as answers to the 2 commercial factors...did anybody else do this?0 -
Is There Anyone Who Has The Same Answer As Me ?
TASK 1.1 AVCO
1.3 RE- ORDER LEVEL AS WELL AS RE- ORDER QUANTITY POLICY NOT FOLLOWED BY STOCK CONTROLL DEPARTMENT
TOTAL LABOUR COST PER BOTTLE PRODUCED .20P
PRIME COST JUST DIRECT COST
MARGINAL COST =PRIME COST + VARIABLE COST
FULL ABSOPTION =mARGINAL COST + FIXED COST
LIMITING FACTORS
PRODUCT A PRODUCT B
CONTRIBUTION PER UNIT 1.03 .62
MACHINE HOUR REQUIRE .2 .08
CONT, PER MAC/HOUR 5.15 7.75
RANKING 2 1
HOURS ALLOCATED 30,000 40,000 70,000
CONTRIBUTION EARNED 154,500 310,000 464,500
PAYBACK PERIOD 1.90 YEARS
NET PRESENT VALUE 153,000 POSITIVE
PROPOSED PROJECT SHOULD BE ACCEPTED.
I GOT REALLY BAD FEELING ABOUT COST PER BATCH QUESTION AS TOTAL
VARIABLE COST IS TOO LOW FOR PER BATCH AS ALL THE OTHER COST WERE GIVEN PER BATCH EXCEPT VARIABLE AND FIXED COST.
I HOPE EVERYONE OF YOU HAVE QUITE WELL AND I HOPE EVERY EACH OF YOU GET GOOD RESULT AND NICE TIME. NOW I AM STARTING REVISON FOR FRA
THANK YOU VERY MUCH EVERYONE0 -

numbers look familiar.. good luck with FRA. personally it was much easier than ECR0 -

i'm sure it said will either be renewed or sold after 3 years....
to be honest when we came out of our exam it was pretty much 50 / 50
some people had added on the disposal and some had left it out all together.
Hopefully this will lower the pass mark for this question!!0 -

Gentle Jesus wrote: »ok that figure sound the the NPC instead of the NPV i got 152.50
79780 was definately not the NPC instead of NPV, as it was calculated using the -600 for the investment...if it was NPC you don't treat the original investment as a minus.0 -
no it dont ask for NPC but the 79780 is wrong0

You could be right. I am always really bad at all those questions, always miss smth important :mad2: cant RTFQ properly..0 -
Gentle Jesus wrote: »no it dont ask for NPC but the 79780 is wrong
I'm not sure...because the question did not state for definate that the contract wouldn't be renewed. The £100,000 would therefore not be counted if the disposal does not go ahead. My class was 50 / 50 on this so can only keep my fingers crossed!0 -
does anyone know the exam result date0
-
I think it is 21 August0
-
Results are out in August - I believe by email on 19.08.08 (if you have signed up on my AAT), 20.08.08 midnight on here and by 21.08.08 in the post0
-
well lots of answers matching with majority of you guys, so i assume that i did ok. gonna keep fingers crossed and that's it - had enough of this ECR..
good luck to everybody:thumbup:0 -

I'm pretty sure I got those bold figures correct, but what made up the contribution earned again ?
Edit. I must have got this right, but the figures don't ring a bell .......... does anyone remember what the fixed costs were and so the profit ?0 -
Looking at the posts I think it has been the same across the board, with them Marginal costing confusion, I think I got it totally wrong :crying:0
