    i used revised figures 250.000 and 400.00
I remember re-reading the question a couple of times and assumed in the end that if they want us to use our calculations from 2.2 the sales figures used there were the original ones. However now when I think about it I think it would be right to used the revised ones as they are simply more up to date.

As for the 100,000 I think you had to assume the contract would not be renewed as the value was in the table at the bottom of the left hand page.

Contributions were 5.15 and 7.75 per machine hour which had to be multiplied by the designated hours (30000 for product A and 40000 for product B). Net Profit at the end should have been 200480.

This is all if I've done it right :D

thats what I thought so I didn't really count the 100.000 quid at all, other than saying the payback period and the NPV both fell within the criteria and so the project should be accepted

I would have thought that if they wanted you to take into account the disposal they would have said in the question that the contract was not going to continue after 3 years but as they said it would be either renewed or sold i dont see how you could be sure at that point. my NPV came to 79780 or something similar. I then mentioned the disposal and how likely it would be that the contract be renewed as answers to the 2 commercial factors...did anybody else do this?

i'm sure it said will either be renewed or sold after 3 years....
to be honest when we came out of our exam it was pretty much 50 / 50
some people had added on the disposal and some had left it out all together.
Hopefully this will lower the pass mark for this question!!

79780 was definately not the NPC instead of NPV, as it was calculated using the -600 for the investment...if it was NPC you don't treat the original investment as a minus.

no it dont ask for NPC but the 79780 is wrong

I'm not sure...because the question did not state for definate that the contract wouldn't be renewed. The £100,000 would therefore not be counted if the disposal does not go ahead. My class was 50 / 50 on this so can only keep my fingers crossed!

I'm pretty sure I got those bold figures correct, but what made up the contribution earned again ?

Edit. I must have got this right, but the figures don't ring a bell .......... does anyone remember what the fixed costs were and so the profit ?
