Help with variance percentage.

Can someone please help me work out the variance percentage. i have this one that i worked out but i dont know how.<BR>Cost this year 75600, cost last year 74100 A Variance of 1500 and the variance % of 2. Can someone please tell me the formula??<BR>Thanks

    I did 15oo divided by 74100 times 100 and came out with 2%. Is that what you mean?

    You could also do 74100 / 75600 to find that 74100 is 98% of 75600 which would show a variance of 2%.............i think the other way is better though. I just wanted to reply to this thread cos i'm bored at work!!
