I am just about to start the AAT course
Any help on what route to take. I will have to do it by distance learning as my employer will not give me time off.
I have been bookkeeping for over thirty years.

It all depends on what is best for you,
the NVQ requires extensive workplace evidence to be provided. This option is really good if you cover all areas of accounting.
If you dont cover all aspects then the Diploma option would probably be best for you as this is more exam based.
it might be worth ringing someone at the AAt to discuss your options.0 -
oh and just to add,
the course structure is exactly the same for both routes.0 -
NVQ or Diploma
I am following the Diploma route as I would have difficulty with the work based evidence for the portfolio.
I have found that it suits me better as I am also studying by distance learning, passed both exams at this level first time, just working through the skills tests.0
