Hi,

I am a full memeber of the AAT - completed Technician Level last year and I am think about doing the Payroll Level 2 & 3 as I would like to offer Accounting services to small businesses in addition to my 9-5 job.

Thing is I have never worked in Payroll and I don't want to spend hundreds on a course just yet! so I would like to just buy the text book for level 2 and see whats what.

What are the best text books for the payroll courses?

I have previously used Osbourne for all of the Traditional NVQ route but they don't seem to do them for payroll.

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Cheers

Chris

I am exactly like you, I used BPP and they were fine however be careful when you buy the books as they will say for exams in June and december 2008. All very well if you are doing the exams in december but a problem for 2009 as 10P rate has gone. The exams are done in arrears of current legislation so the way it is now is not what you get tested on. Its all about getting the book version for the year to be tested on. I expect books for exams in 2009 will come out towards the end of this year. Well worth doing the course if you dont understand maternity pay, NI contributions and pensions.
