try any job agencies locally - i use reed, hays, i used to use more, but a lot turned out to be useless.
There are usually ones that only advertise accounting jobs, but i found a lot of those were very... rude. Not a fan of those at all.
Reed have been the best for me so far, but really depends on who you speak to.
My b/f have been with hays for over a year, and they haven't found him a single interview yet.

I woudl suggest avoiding REED and NOW Accountancy - i have been treated very very badly by them and so have others from what I've heard here recently.

I used to use Hays and I found them to be very useful I also went with Michael Page for a bit. I now work for myself so haven't used them for a while. I think it all depends on which consultant you get I was very lucky to be A living in central London and B had great consultants. I have also had some rubbish ones that dont bother to return your calls so I guess its luck of the draw

I agree, I would advise anyone to avoid Reeds in Northampton. Having passed all my AAT exams for Technician level and having worked in an accounting environment for over 5yrs I am looking to consolidate all my learning with a relevant position as a trainee accountant. I was advised that I would need to take a pay cut to gain experience. I've found this quite hard to swallow as the whole point in funding myself through the AAT was to give me the qualification and open up opportunities. I never once thought I would get to the end of all my studies and be told I'd have to go backwards.
I really felt that Reed wanted to sell me short. They are not interested in getting the best for candidates at the end of the day they are just wanting to get people into jobs where they can start earning commission.

Sorry to vent soooo much but I have spent all of my morning on the internet searching for a job and have found sod all :(

Try the GAAP website, monster.co.uk, accountancyage.com, NHS as someone mentioned earlier, or even company websites directly. I think CIMA have a job seach function on there site so that might be worth trying as well. Good luck.

I have found that Robert Half are good, they seem to have a lot of big companies on their books!
