Hi all,

I have read on the internet that £30 for the first 4 employees and £10 for every subsequent employee was the average monthly charge for payroll services.
Is this true? Please let me know your views and how much you charge.

Every help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks all.

    Hi

If that's the case I'm seriously undercharging!!!!

I vary my price depending on the work involved - e.g. whether the employees wages vary each month or whether they are fixed, whether I have to post payslips or they will accept email PDF's.

My average rate is £5.00 a payslip.

Yes Sue i think you are seriously undercharging!

Apart from just the payslips what about P11D, P45, P35, P60, etc etc.plus all the responsibilty of tax changes, SSP ,SMP etc .

If its a straight forward monthly payroll of approx 3 or 4 people i would charge approx £40/£50 per month and my clients are very happy.
just think of the aggravation it saves them and the peace of mind it gives them just to provide you with the gross pay details, and you handle all the rest.

    Best wishes

P45's I would include within my payslip rate, but I charge extra for end of year returns.

I have checked with other Bookkeepers and Accountants locally and I'm actually one of the more expensive a lot only charge £3.00 per payslip.

I vary my prices one client I charge £15.00 for one employee as I have to calculate the gross pay each month, but then I have another client with 20 employees that I email PDF payslips and reports so I charge £3.00 a payslip.

I started using Moneysoft for payroll this year and I've found it's a lot quicker than Sage which is what I use to use and also produces better reports.
