HMRC CD Rom

Hi

Can anyone please advise me. I normally use Sage for payroll, but I am doing the books for a small brewery and they have been using the free Employer CD-Rom from HMRC.

I have received the new cd which should incorporate all the tax bandwith/code changes for week commencing 7th September, however when I did a trial run of the wages it still had the old tax codes.

Now, I know how to overide the tax code, but as it was the 543L code, I would have assumed that it would automatically increase this code by 60 as it is also the emergency tax code no.

I rang the helpdesk, who said that I had to manually adjust all the figures, however the cd says that it automatically changes the figures in line with the Chancellors statement on 13th May.

Now I am a bit confused! :confused1:

Does anyone know where I can look to find the bandwidth settings within this package, so that I can be sure that they are accurate??

Thanks in advance.

Tracy

    Hi,

I use the cd-rom and you have to change the tax code yourselves manually for each employee, by inputting them via the database. So 543L you have to change to 603L.
The figures automatically adjusted are the tax bands, tax adjustments etc...but not the tax codes, as they can differ from one employee to the other....
    Hope that helps !:001_smile:

    Thanks for your reply.

I had decided to adjust the tax codes manually, just didn't know where to find the tax bandwidths to check their accuracy, so was a bit worried that they would be incorrect.

Hopefully the cd has loaded correctly, and my figures are accurate for the changes.

    Thanks again
