Ltd Company Year End

I have just been asked to do someone's year end accounts. They are a ltd company and have been trading since Nov 2006.
Problem is they haven't done any accounts and have now had a letter from companies house saying they need to file a return!
I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas on when I should do their year end. I didn't know whether to leave it as Nov or change it to April 07 or April 08????
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Have you been given these late, if the year end is November 07 the accounts have to be in at Companies House by 31st August 2008.
Are you registered as a member in practice to cover you to do this type of work?0 -
Changing year end will not extend the Companies House filing deadline.0

Limited Companies don't have to faff about with basis periods like self employed folk if their year end isn't 5th April/ 31st March.
If they are late, they will just have to swallow the penalty, and you may as well use the ARD they already have.
If you aren't familiar with Ltd Co accounts (or rather, don't do them frequently) then don't underestimate the amount of time it will take you to complete them, and make sure you charge accordingly.

Thanks for the replies. I have already advised them that they will have to pay a penalty for late filling. They have had a letter from HMRC with dates, I am meeting them next week to go through it with them.
If I feel it is too much I shall certainly pass them onto someone else.
And yes I am an MIP! I have experience of LTD Companies accounts but haven't had a client who has been late and not done any accounts at all!
