christmas party allowances for 2007

Hi all

can anyone help

I understand the allowance for xmas parties for christmas 2007 is £150 per employee which I understand to be net and that at that time you cannot claim for partners please confirm

also Ive been told you can claim some vat how much is the vat allowance per person or how does that work

It is a £150.00 exemption and not an allowance and it includes VAT
