Returning to my studies

I am returning to my AAT studies after a break of about a year and a half. I have got left to complete my AAT, resits in DFS and PCR.

In January I will sign up to do these via homestudy, I wondered whether there is any major changes to syllabus since the last time I sat these exams. Is it OK that I am still doing the NVQ route etc. I am a bit confused at the moment.

I felt that when I failed my exams last time there wasn't any point in continuing hence the break, so I feel that now I would like to start afresh.

I am unhappy in my current job as a bookkeeper and the ratio to admin is about 60% admin and 40% bookkeeping. I therefore hope that by finishing these exams I can move on to better things.

Any advice on returning to studies would be very much appreciated.

    Hiya

I am studying technician after a break of 1 year, and I am still using the books I purchased back then. I cannot comment on PCR as I haven't begun that one yet, but for DFS, so long as you are aware of the International Accounting standards and the change in terminology, ie Income statemement not Profit and Loss Account etc etc then you should be fine.

Best advice I can give would be to look at a recent exam paper to see if anything looks drastically different.

Welcome back to your studies, and all the very best!
