This really depends on a few factors, only to mention but a few;

1. How quickly you absorb - if you absorb quite quickly then 1/2 may be appropriate.

2. Your schedule - if you are very busy then 1/2 may be appropriate.

3. The number of units you are taking.

4. Whether you are a theorist (grasp theory aspects first) or practical (briefly go through the theory & practice questions).

In most cases an average of 5 hrs a week would be appropriate. I personally would:

a) Work out the time left before exams - bearing in mind time available, the time set aside for practice work, other units to be taken and time for your personal staff (work, leisure etc)

b) Allocate time - (a x number of weeks)/ no. of chapters per unit. Some chapters are longer and may need more time.

c) Start you study.

This is my personal view of approaching revision.

AC

Hiya

I usually trawl through every question/past paper known to man! Its repetition that gets information from your short term to your long term memory. When I finish everything I've got, I start again and work through the questions I found difficult before.

I find repetition also highlights your weaker areas so you know where you need to brush up. I dont have a strict revision timetable I find it two regulated.

Everyone I've spoken to seems to find their own level about what works for them. I'm sure you will too.

Good luck.

C

    i agree with fubar.
i'm doing intermediate this year but when i sat my exam for foundation i did loads and loads of past papers and simulations in the back of my text book. anything i could get my hands on really.
the formats for the papers were all basically the same and seemed to deviate in the same areas e.g. you have to do a control account and it was either petty cash or wages. however, this was old standards so you'll need to research and see if its changed much if you are doing new standards.
the second part of the paper was largely down to common sense on some of the questions like different ways of filing things.....stuff like that.
hope this helps......to me its mainly about practice practice practice
