Can anyone tell me why, on the old paper from June 2008, the antique painting's deemed proceeds are £6000 in the answer, whereas in the question she sold it for £4,000. :huh:

I WAS WONDERED THE SAME THING. If you look at chattels. If there is a loss on chattels and the chattel has been sold for under £6000 the gross proceeds are assumed to be £6000 to restrict loss.
