Assessments Distance Learning/College are they the same

Does anyone know if the assessments e.g. Unit 15 cash management and credit control and the same whether you do them throught a distance learner or a college.
The reason I ask is I note the forecasting / time series analysis technique is shown differently in the Kaplan book in comparison with the Osborne Book.
