Is that not the stay-puft marshmellow man like from Ghostbusters? :001_smile:
To Orignal Poster- do you not have an opening Trial Balance print-out where you can enter all debits/credits including the Bank balance?0 -
-
No I dont have a TB from the prev year as i took over the accounts just a month ago.0
-
you'd need to enter a full balance sheet all in one entry and that should balance it, so bank, cash, debtors, creditors, capital accounts/retained earnings.
you will need last years TB to be able to do it this year.0 -

Do you have PY accounts and working papers?
Usually, there would be journal entries for all the balance sheet items at the start of the year.
Whilst waiting for the details and to get on with the bookkeeping, I would post the bank to a suspense code. Then replace the bank entry with suspense when doing the journals.0
