AAT to Msc

With the way things are at the moment, I am finding it very difficult to find an employer to fund either CIMA or ACCA.
The alternative seems to do an MSc at University full time. I have found an MSc course in Financial Management which is pretty much CIMA in a nutshell. Only it takes 1 year to complete rather than the 3 years to complete CIMA part time.
Has anybody else contemplated this?
