Hi
Anybody know about student loans. Might take a degree after aat. Am not working in accounts and have never done so. Is the chartered route out of the question for me?

If you want to do an Undergraduate degree then you can get loans from Student Finance England. If you do an Undergraduate degree in Finance then the AAT qualification was a waste of time as both are equal when wanting to start CIMA / ACCA.

If you want to do an undergraduate degree in something other than Finance, then the AAT qualification should get you into university just like an A Level graduate.

Depends on the degree though. SOme relevant degrees can earn exemptions from all but the final stage of CIMA/ACCA. Also, a good undergraduate degree can open up employment opportunities (such as grad entry routes or training schemes) that AAT won't.

I've applied for a postgraduate degree after AAT. That will also open up graduate training schemes and it only takes a year compared to an undergraduate degree.
