There is a rumour going round our small town that a local ltd company has "gone bust". I have looked on Co Hse web site and all it says is -
Active - Proposal to Strike off
The return was due Oct 2008 and is marked late.
I feel I should know this, but what exactly does this mean?

If the annual return is not submitted then Companies House may start a proposal to strike, however if HMRC are owed money or forms are outstanding they will initially object to the proposal to strike.
In that case it is a game of wait and see if anyone places the company into liquidation.0 -
Thanks - the rumours could be true then!0
