Transfer of profit on disposal to P&L

Hiya,
I think i'm having a dumb moment!
At present i have a cr b/d balance of 1250 in my disposal account (so there is a dr profit on sale)
I think i am over confusing this - if i have a profit then this would be a dr in my trial balance and a cr b/d balance should be a cr in the trial balance also.... but my trial balance is not balancing!! if anyone can explain where i am going wrong please!?!

A debit on the profit and loss account would mean an expense, you need to credit the profit and loss collumn of your trial balance with the 1250.
