Hi,
Just wondering if anyone else has heard about the changes to the PEV and PCR exams this June? Apparently the examiner for this Junes exam says that as we have passed the ECR then we should be assessed again on the concepts we have already learned. I have got my books back out to read up on NPV and IRR. :mad2:
I originally posted this thread in 'chat', so just ignore that one. Sorry.
I don't know how to delete it from there. :001_unsure:

There are underlying concepts that are the same as ECR - I feel that these exams build on the ECR course - surely theres not that much that these 2 exams dont cover from ECR?
I think we could all do without having to start going back over ECR aswell?!
Surely we have enough to be doing?
Hows everyone finding revision for these exams?0 -
I think the whole point of the course is to learn everything and remember it/ put in practice etc.
Sure we are all learning to pass the exams but the idea is to learn and keep that knowledge throughout our accounting careers so in theory if you have passed ECR you should already know all of it.0 -
It won't do any harm to spend an hour scanning through the old books nearer the time, as well as NPV and IRR, I'm going to refresh my memory on Project Appraisal, Process Costing and Limiting Factor Analysis. Any one of which could come up in the exam.0

Surely in regards to these exams there should be a level of consistency and to just start pulling up sections of ECR on one particular year seems a little excessive to me.
Yes throw one or two concepts in but to dig up large parts of the exam seems a bit much.0 -

Whats the problem here? There is assumed knowledge on every paper, even when you get up into CIMA.0
