I would love to be made the sole person resonsible for approving / declinging MPs expenses. I would scrutinise every single one just like they should have been from day one!

One of them charged us for cleaning his moat....his MOAT!! We have an MP who has a moat....where does he think he is?? 1645?0
-
Was that actually proven to be true? It was mentioned on Newsnight last night with Jeremy Paxman, the MP on the show doubted it was true - though I wouldn't put it past anybody. They are "Within the rules" to claim upwards of Β£250,000 costs, not including their travel they get for free and of course the furniture and household costs!
They get paid like division one footballers!0 -
Apparently he just mentioned it in the expenses, but didn't actually charge us :confused1:
I just think that its hilarious that in this day and age we still elect people who own houses big enough that they need moats. Its also funny when you compare it to the MP who claimed for a can of dog food.....obviously that particular MP is new and hasn't been told how to claim/steal enough to afford a moat0 -
Look, it's not fair. Moats are horrendously expensive to maintain. It took Matt and Adam hours to dig out the one round my gaff. It didn't help that I live in a multi storey tower block........0

How do you manage with your conservatory? Is it stuck on the side of the building, on the 24th floor0 -
Conservatory? Itβs a shed, stuck on the outside of the toilet window, held in place with some duck tape, bungee cord and no-more-nails glue....0
-
Would that be tape made from ducks or tape made to wrap ducks in?0
-
-
Oh so they are two separate tapes then - Duct tape and Duck tape. There was me thinking there was only the one...!:laugh:0

-
And where does gaffer tape fit in to all of this?:huh:0
-
Duct tape, tank tape and gaffer tape, all the same thing, although the gaffer tape is the senior, as one would expect....lol0
-
Yeh but isn't tank tape missile proof?0
