The gender pay gap

I've thought this for a while now
As a bloke, I've never had an issue with the pay gap - probably because it's in my favour :001_rolleyes: - and I've always thought the reasons for it were to do with ambition, rather than some idea that managers are chauvanistic pigs.
Perhaps feminists can now start to 'blame' women, rather than men, for this problem?

Haha don't hold your breath0

I have no problems with a man being paid more than me, as long as he does more or more difficult work than I do.
But do you mean working women in general, or specifically in the accounting profession?0 -
Whey hey, I am a bloke!!0

Women in general and especially the higher ups. If you do not demand more money, you will not receive more.0 -

Agree, if you don't ask you won't get, thats what I think.0 -
I'm a man apparently.
But then, the questions aren't applicable to me as I work for myself so I am the boss!!0 -
I came out as female.
But then I am.....and as I have just got promotion my salary has just doubled! So yes I am happy with my salary
Sorry if I sound big headed :001_wub:0 -
I'm a man, and I used to feel as though I was trapped in a woman's body.
But then I was born.
sorry, I'll get my coat.0 -

Perhaps we value other things than money?0 -

I did ask and still didnt get yet
Maybe I should have said if you don't try to get a rise by asking then you have less chance really of getting one. I think at least if you ask then they may say yes, and if they say no then at least you know where you stand, but if you didnt ask you will never know when it will happen or not. Speaking from my experiences I think its better to ask.0 -
hmm came up as a Male in the test. Most be all the aggressiveness :thumbup1:
Tries to make a positive answer to this thread..fails! sarcasm mode on !
This is a remaining psychological attitude from the times of "the lord on the hill and the serfs."
i mean we women have got the vote!
we women have got allowed into colleges and universities!
we women can become doctors, teachers, accountants (!) lawyers, etcetc!
Whatever do we want with equal pay??!!
In some (different!) societies and culturals the Women are/were the leaders, decision makers and important revered members of the community.
Sorry guys but could not stop myself. Leaves quietly.0 -
