I have the Kaplan books as well. There is a small bit in the Pocket notes in chapter 3 (I think review) I called them up at the time and asked them and they told me that was all they had on it.
Thing is there is lifecycle costing for buying equipment and lifecycle costing for products you are going to develop and sell. ( I think) Kaplan only mention the products you are going to sell.
Research and development costs, initial production costs, marketing then obsolecence costs.0 -
Lifecycle costing is covered in ECR at Intermediate level so will be in that text book.0

the same feeling! unbelievable the book doesn't cover life cycle costing when it has been tested so often in the past exams!!
I have no idea at the moment how to do it and I'm very busy revising other units, don't have the time to look up into ECR books too!
It should be a little example in this MAC book instead, not wasting a full chapter (n.6) on how to use Excel! duh!!0 -
PEV Dec 08 - Task 2.3
OK, I give up, I KNOW we did this in ECR, but that was 6 months ago, I dont do these everyday and quite frankily am impressed with the amount of new stuff I've learnt! Please, no clever clogs saying I should remember this, I dont. Does anyone just have a detailed list of how they got the answers please as I've gone over them and it's completely different to what I got last night.
Apologies if this post seems rude, it's not meant to be, I'm just at the end of my tether!!! Thank you :thumbup:0 -

LCC- accounting for the costs of a product or service over its entire life from the start of development to the end of customer support.
costs are accumulated in - research and development

- customer services
Problems - eg - predicting the life cycle and its various stages, estimating future demands, legislation costs, environmental issues.0
