If you have to do payroll as self employed, do you need a special software package/equipment or can you simply do the payslip in excel?

Just wondering as I'm thinking of starting as self employed

Hi

Payslips can be hand written on the back of an envelope providing they include all the required information! Excel would be fine, but you would need to be profficient in manual payroll if you're not using payroll software.
