Juror's loss of earnings

My SA client has received 2 payments from HMCS one for loss of earnings and one for expenses. I am presuming the loss of earnings portion is taxable but the expenses not but am getting conflicting advice.
Can anyone confirm if loss of earnings is taxable income and if so, does it go in box 15 of the SE pages?
Thanks

Thanks sloshed but I can't get the link to work. At last I've got the authorision code for this client and will be calling HMRC as he can't confirm exactly how many returns are overdue or when he went self employed :confused1: so I'll double check the jury service compensation with them.0
