4000 words!!!!

I may be dumb, but after starting the wonderful unit 10, I now have 597 words including headings (although its not finished yet)! Is it just me is 4000 words alot?

Is anyone else having problems bulking it up. I did have more but after reading about not elaborating everything its condensed it down again! How many words have the people who've finished this done theres at?

HELP!!!! lol

Hey,

Most of the works come in the reccomendation and analysis section. Have you got that far?

Mine was only just above 3000, and gone approved. Quality not Quantity!!!

True :thumbup1: have just finished my 1st draft ready to hand in to my tutor and mine is 3889.....once you get going, it is not so hard I find to reach the words threshold....now eagelry waiting for tutor's feedback:blushing::confused1:

Im just starting the recommendations bit now, so I should be able to fill a bit more and then the executive summary should add a bit. it just feels like a mammoth task, lol.

If you have already done your analysis i would go back and do a bit more!!! Use swot, list 5 or so strenghts, exaplain why their strengths, and how it beneifts your company, same with weaknesses (i had about 5 s, about 8 w and 2 or 3 o and ts!!!)

That should get you to at least 1500!

Mine ended up at about 5,500 words and I could have kept going. I did the case study and there were so many things wrong with the company that my analysis and recommendations section was never ending!

Thanks, thats good advice, I think Im trying to rush it. I havent even included any strengths in the analysis. I was focusing on the weaknesses, typical negative nelly that I am, lol. How big are other peoples appendices? Ive got loads of emails and prints about a new software system and organisation chart etc, do these all go in?

Apologies if this is becoming one of those "can you write it for me" threads, lol.

you gradually build up. I first hit a wall at around 200words! After that i hit a wall around every 1000 words. Asked sum people for tips at work and got to 3700ish
Not so bad when you get stuck in. Getting into it was very hard i found

The appendix can be as big as you like but whatever you include has to be relevant to the report and suitably referred to within the report. The appendix isn't included in your word count, though.

Have you tried using the help section from the AAT website. That heped me as it goes through wat is required, hints and you can jot notes online, that should help you bump it up and meet the criteria at the same time! Also your tutor should be able to give some help in areas that need more words around them after the frist draft.

I didn't find it as hard as I thought, as luckily I found a heap of info to put in my report.

I guess it's different from report to report, but what I found helpful was a manual for my work's accounting system. I then used the manual to describe all the different functions of the system and how different tasks can be carried out. I thought it would be too detailed and perhaps considered a bit "waffley", as I did go into a lot of details such as "clicking this then brings up X options for the user, once an option is selected then X screen is brought up...etc etc" (And I went through a lot of things the system could do, so I thought my report did sound a little like a manual at parts! But it definately upped the word count!). But I was told on Friday that I had passed and that it was well written.

Whoop! Now all I have to do is the exit questionnaire.

Once your project has been marked and passed, there's a questionnaire to complete. Though I'm unsure if this applies to everyone - there's also an interview, which perhaps takes its place?

The questionnaire just asks you questions like "why did you choose your topic" etc.
