A disagreement has arisen at my college as to whether the following is an error of principle or a mispost/error of commision:<BR><BR>'The proprietress had withdrawn £140 for private use during March that had been debited to the wages account' <BR><BR>I would be grateful for any comments, myself I think error of principle, but the class was equally split.<BR><BR>

I think this should be an error of principle. An error of commission is where one or both sides of a double-entry has been posted to the wrong account (but is within the same class of account). Drawings and Expenses (Wages) are not the same class of account.

I'm with Smigger on this one- it is an error of principle.<BR><BR>The entry has been posted to the wrong account. <BR><BR>A mis-post is when it goes to the wrong person's account, e.g. A.T. Hughes instead of A.J. Hughes.
