Why unit 31 cost so much??? £314.00

I am looking to do unit 31. I have successfully completed units IAC, FRA and ECR through self-study. Bought the Kaplan books from a book store and paid for exams.

So far I did not have to pay for distance learning which i think is not value for money given that the book on it's own cost £20-£23. For the skills test you have no chose but to pay for the distance learning units. I am now doing PE unit 32, which I had to pay for.

Why can't unit 31 be offered with out Sage 50 which is what make the cost go up. Or Sage should be free.

I'm with Kaplan distance learning and they do offer Unit 31 without Sage if you already own a copy or use it at work. Perhaps give them a call.
Why should Sage Instant Accounts be free? It is not Sage's problem that you want to be AAT qualified.
