Kaplin books for units 11, 19

Has anyone else bought these for this year?? i have and to be honest am really struggling to understand them.

I bought them as it was the reading list given in college and yes they were really good value (so i thought) at the time. However i might have to go and buy all fresh books (ozborne) as ive always used these and find them easier to use.

I think others would agree?? that Kaplan give too much detail, some people like that - I don't! It impedes learning (IMHO). The format is bad too, Osborne have better format.

I think your college advised you badly.

how are you getting on with dfs? i think there is a lot of reading to do

Am really sruggling with DFS at the moment and we have covered section one already. Its getting used to the different names for the statements stock and on and on, how about you?

The personal tax am enjoying tho just covered benifits in kind in the tax comp ect

i am trying to read when i can, but i am also doing project 10 too. i was thinking about doing a tax one too, but not sure if i can fit it all in (in between poker and mafia's of course ).

Not sure about mafia but always time for poker.

I did make a start on unit ten but as we have been told dont need to hand it in till may might put it to one side till christmas

i have that and steve's book in my amazon basket, but finances are tight, so they might have to wait and BPP book will just have to do.
