Am I being moody/doing the wrong thing?

Brief details:
Started as intern at Christmas for experience, to cover different accounting areas, but couldn't move around because help was needed. Given a short contract to sort out a huge mess which tied in with project. Handed in final figures to superior this week to be presented at meeting. Return on investment (me) was just over 132,000%. Was then asked by boss "where are you off to next,then?" Feel gutted & used. Tomorrow I'm going to ask for reference (for the third time), say I'm taking a break to write up report (haven't had ANY time off since I started), then returning just to get it signed off. The damn job turned my hair white. Starting job hunting tonight. My kids think I'm having a hissy fit..
