Hi All
As we come to the last 3 weeks i seem to be revising one subject over another.
How do you manage to divide your time to both subjects?
Also its been such a long time since i studied for more than one subject how would and do you draw up a study timetable?
Thanks
Vic

Hi, I'm doing DFS and Personal Tax in December. I got my books in July, but due to personal problems didnt start to study until September properly. Then I studied Personal Tax until October and I was 70% happy, just done DFS until I'm 80% happy with everything, now going back to Personal Tax for 2 weeks, then going back to DFS for a week... It's been HORRIBLE, at least PEV and PCR was a little bit similar!!!0

Doing the exact same exams - dont you find your spending ten times more time on DFS rather than tax and making it hard to keep up?0 -
Know what? But I actually found DFS WAY easier than personal tax!! DFS is all about balance sheets etc, which we already know, Personal tax is a complete mystery and misery to me!!!0

I dont find any of it easy but am a little worried that ive found tax easier and not put the work in0 -
I'm sure you have put the work in.
I just get confused when something is 'take the higher of the two figures'
I dont understand WHY.
Mind you, I'm sure it's like everything else and will sink in!!0 -
I am studying PEV/PCR for the Dec sitting and they kind of go hand in hand so that makes it easier. However, I advise if you are revising daily, then take it in turn to revise each subject and don't cram too much into one night. There's only so much your brain can process after a day at work. Use any spare time at the weekends wisely. Plan something nice for after exams so that you can really enjoy it knowing that exams are over. That works for me......0

im doing dfs and btc in december
i dont have a set plan as this always seems to panic me i just keep a checklist of what needs done and highlight it off as i do it - worked with my business degree and has worked with this so far (did fra and ecr in jun)
i am having a day today on dfs and had 2 half days study mon/tue due to work mon am and yest i just couldnt do it in the morn just couldnt face it! so did 2 half days on btc
i find setting a plan for the week of where i want to be at the end is best for me - my plan for this week was to finish chapters 8 & 9 of dfs so only 2 remain and as btc are lots short chapters finish chapter 12 wich would leave 4 - i have 1 more btc chapter which im planning on doing fri am before i go away until sunday and dedicating today and tomorrow to dfs so am totally on track
next week id like to finish the remainding chapters as early as possible (by wed lunchtime) as have dfs revision the saturday and then leaves me a week and a weekend for revision and exam prep
im on track so far0 -
Im doing DFS & MAC, home study using BPP books. I just read one book, then the other. Then go back & do chapter questions for one then the other, then revision books the same way, then written out cards for each book.
Im now doing as many exams as possible, one day i'll do DFS the next MAC, or maybe half days, depends which I feel most worried about really, at the moment its DFS, but I also have a revision course booked for that.
I only started reading in September, it does mean that each day of the last 3 weekends & the next few weekends I am putting in 6 to 7 hours and maybe 2 hours 3 nights a week depending on my day at work.
It works for me....so far!0
