Starting Technician Level With Little Experience

Hi, I only have very basic accounting experience through voluntary work. I have completed AAT Intermediate Level and have a third class maths and statistics degree and am looking to pass Sage-certified exams soon. How much will passing Technician Level actually improve my chances of finding work in accounting? Do employers relish the prospect of their employees studing whilst working for them to the extent that passing Technician Level without gaining practical experience would actually be a negative?

I would be grateful for any opinions on this. Thanks.

I should say any effort shown by an aplicant will show any future employer you are determined and willing to do what it takes, and are keen to learn.

But i will warn you like anything you will have to work for it and i wouldnt expect to walk into an accountancy practise staiting i am AAT qualified and expecting to jump into accounts ect you would have to like a large majority of us and start from the bottom and work up.

Thanks for the reply. Basically, I just want to know that passing Technician Level is a positive rather than a negative. I wouldn't want an employer to think my studies are wasted as a result of them not being done in tandem with gaining professional experience.

    Looking for job!

I am nearly finish my technician level and nearly a year now since I start sending my CV out there but I don't have a luck.

Any basic job in accountancy would be fine for me even voluntary work I signed up but nothing came back, I finish nursing though but I just can't face to care all those ill people now and I spend all my money studying in accountancy but I don't get any back yet apart from don't give up looking for work that I really passionate about.
