Exam Papers - marking system

Now this may seem a stupid question, and yes Steve I Know there is no such thing, but, take the DFS paper, I beleive its weighting is 70% part 1 and 30% part 2. So say there's a 100 marks available and to pass you needed 80, would that mean that you'd need to score 56 marks in section 1 and 24 marks in scetion 2, and if 2 tasks in section 2 would you have to score a minimum in each task to pass?
For example I've just done a practice exam from BPP revision book, and while I was happy with section 1 section 2 wasn't as good. Section 2 had 2 tasks and I would say 2.1 comprised of 65-70% of that section. In task 2.1 I did ok, got all the ratio formulae and calculations correct and in the report I had to do I only missed a bit of info according to the answers, but I scored very little in 2.2. Would I therefore have failed that section?

How does the marking system work for pev?0

We don't know, but now the tasks all have time allocated that basically tells us how many marks are allocated.
Typically you would have to get 75-80% right in a section
So if 90 minutes are allocated to section 1, try to think of it as 90 marks and look at getting 68 to 72 out of 90 in the section.Sandy

So for example if I got 68 marks in section 1 but got a question worth say 10 marks completey wrong, would I still pass or would I have to show competence in every area tested in the section?0 -
It is possible to get 0 for a task so long as the section total is over the passmarkSandy

Thanks Sandy, don't worry I am making sure I go through everything but there's such a lot to take in so it's useful to know that.0
