Just a thought..

If when asked to produce a consolidated B/S and the ordinary shares were 0.50p per share instead of £1 would this just affect the working when working out the % of what the parent owns.

When working out the net assets for the subsidiary the share capital and share premium would be the figures from the SFP!?

Thankyou!

I've been told that it will ALWAYS be £1 per share in the exam, and they won't change it to trip us up. So I've not even thought about what happens if the amount is different!

Thinking about it, you wouldn't need to take the value into account when working out % ownership, as you can just go by no. of shares for that.

I'm sorry I don't know what you mean by SFP?
