    :(

I tried to input more than one and got the following error message,

Images include use of smilies, the BB code tag and HTML <img> tags. The use of these is all subject to them being enabled by the administrator. I should imagine its down to server space and BB who lives in room 101

Wethinks (well, me and Chris anyway) the forum admins fled the AAT coop a looooooong time ago, Julia.

Smileys take up very little server space and however many you use in a post makes no real difference. Images also don't use up any space as you're linking to them from other sites though obviously the number/size of images on any page will impact on page rendering times and thus usabilty particularly for people with slow internet connections -this is especially annoying when people quote posts with images and don't edit them out.

My real beef is the admins taking away the extended editing interface, I'm not aware of any good reason for that other than to make life needlessly difficult.

You will be aware that being accountants does not necessarily give us the tallent of a good 'tone' to our posts, sometimes :)

And so smileys have gone a long way to help prevent war on the forum on many occasions

Nothing wrong with a bit of conflict and we all need a good ass kicking every now and then. Most of my nasty posts are actually tongue in cheek but I'd rather people make their own minds up about them. I do hate it though when I see a serious post with a smiley or internet abbreviation in it.

Does putting LOL at the end of a sentence forgive what you've actually written in that sentence?

"I just f**ked your mother. LOL".

Yeah. She told me it was the worst shag she's ever had :001_smile:

Actually she said it was the second worst she'd ever had, only outdone by the one - and only one - your dad gave her. LOL.
