Just been into my local deli and the woman about to serve me blew her nose and then threw the tissue into the bin before asking what I wanted.
I asked if she'd please wash her hands as I'd just seen her blow her nose! She went off and then explained that it was the heat from the kitchen and she's be on all day if she washed her hands every time!
What would you have done, or am I just being a grumpy old woman???

Hmmm, well being a grumpy old man I'd have pointed out that if she can't observe basic standards of hygiene then she shouldn't be serving in a deli. I wouldn't want to be eating food that's had someone else's hands all over it anyway, all the places I use wear plastic gloves when serving.0

i would have just said no thanks and walked out.
we were in a bakery on sunday and there was a huge queue in front of us, so we had a bit of a wait. There was a couple who had 2 kids and they were coughing and sneezing all over the glass counters, and the glass counters have a little gap between each pane of glass. So me and my hubster just walked out as i was no way eating anything the kids might have coughed or sneezed all over YUCK

Due to go for Swine Flue jab so not taking any chances in the meantime.

Her boss & owner was stood next to her & all she did was role her eyes! I wonder if she did say anything when I left, as the shop was full.0

Probably said something like "what a nasty customer who do they think they are" and rolled her eyes again
