What are breaks???
My lunch break is so short, by the time I've gone to the deli for my soup, had a quick look on here to see what you are all up to, asked the phone 'cos I'm still sat at my desk, its time to be back to work!0 -
we are supposed to have one hour lunch break ....and then two mini breaks of 10 min on AM (9:00am to 12:00am) and two mini breaks of 10 min on PM (1:00pm to 5:30pm) this is mainly for people who smoke
i dont so i go for either a walk short one or down to the coffee shop
when the exams were kicking in (ie late november) i used all my breaks together (i requested this from my manager so i would have a day not only my lunch hour but 40min more)0 -
lol breaks i wish0

My trap worked !!
Now i know what you all get up to !
...Me coming from working on a production line this is just a bit different. No more asking to go to the toilet, stuck to a line for 2 hours at a time (in fear of straying from it!), hands full of oil everyday...
Now my boss has invited us out for lunch tomorrow !!!!0 -

Smokers get an extra hour's break per day here (compared to non-smokers). I can only assume the policy was written by a smoker.
Which is the usual facile management assumption that to be productive people have to be at their desks full time. Except in occupations where it's absolutely necessary for people to be at their posts (you wouldn't want firemen taking unscheduled breaks for instance) I've never understood how the regimented attitude towards time in most workplaces is meant to make people do productive work. I don't smoke anymore but I'm far more productive now I can take breaks when and for as long as I want. Not meant as a pro-smoker argument but as a pro-break argument btw.0 -
