Just thinking of booking a week near Rotherham in July.

Anyone know the area? What's there to see/do/visit?

Thanks in advance.

    First question is why?
We're 68 miles from the coast and we are about 30 miles from the peak district.
It's a good "jumping off" place to go and visit around the region.
If you like shopping, there is Meadowhall, the first shopping mall in the country.
Rotherham has the remains of a roman fort, we were also famous centuries ago for producing the long cannon used on board Naval vessels. We are also the home of the "screw tap". The tap was invented in Rotherham.

Malls, Roman forts, creators of taps. Invented up north, all done better elsewhere. Didn't also invent football, cricket and rugby up there did you?

Looks very nice accomodation. What sort of things do you like to do, for example shopping, walking, cycling, visiting historical sites? How far do you want to travel to see/visit things?

It's a nice area where you are going to stay and does give you easy access to the whole area. It does depend what your interests are. There is a country park with waterski-ing, if you like that sort of thing. There are plenty of nice bike rides. The Pennines are nearby if you like hiking. There are a lot of nice places in N Derbyshire to visit. You shouldn't get bored.

    Thanks for your replies.
We like a bit of everything really.
    Sightseeing, eating, just chilling.
Not too much travelling though as would have done enough travelling from very South East.
