Please help re Sage Line 50

Hi

I purchased sage line 50 v12 self study workbook 1, off ebay several months ago, but due to exams I did not have the time to spend on it.

I now realise that sage line 50 has changed to sage accounts and was wondering how big the change is. Is it still worth working on? I know that there are books 2,3 & 4 but I am unable to locate any at an affordable price. Which brings me to my next question would anyone like to sell them to me? I have the 180 days trial use. I don't know whether sage put any restrictions into the software stopping you just using the books that follow on.

Any help or advice would be very gratefully received.

Hi Marg,

I use Sage Line 50 at work and only upgraded to Version 10 a year past September. They change them all the time and you would spend a fortune on keeping up with it. I only upgrade ours when I feel that there is something on the new version that would be helpful to our accounts system.

Dont try and keep up with them. The new ones only have extra bits. You can learn the basics of Sage perfectly well from the version you have. Dont worry about it.

Hi Marg,

I work for a company who sell's Sage 50 Accounts (Line 50) and can therefore recommend the workbooks direct from Sage with the latest version 2010.

I think the current price is £310 for all three stages, which is a damn sight cheaper than the 1-2 day training courses you have to attend.

Also Sage dont put restrictions on the 180 day license so you can use the other books within that time limit, however there may be Backup files relevant to the training sessions that are not on the first disk.
