Is there anywhere of viewing last years (07-08) tax calculation for my client. I'm just completing his Current Year Tax Return on the HMRC website and wanted to compare this with last years.

If it was completed online then you can see this on the HMRC website. If not, you could always request a copy from HMRC. They always moan, but they do usually send a copy!0
