IT for Import and Export business

Hi, I am currently thinking of taking on a client (my first) who imports goods and provides consultancy services to clients in China and Taiwan.
Can anyone recommend a cheap but good finance system that would be suitable for this type of business?
Also any advice on the complications I might face on doing the vAT returns and Corporation tax return for this company?
Just one more thing has anyong got ant advice on working out a fee? Not sure what he requires me to do as yet, but I think it will be VAT Returns, Corporation Tax, Full set of Ltd Accounts, maybe some bookkeeping.
