Hi guys,
Thought I was post a very topical message...
Well there are 10 days to go until the deadline.
How is everyone doing? Lots left to file?
I have:
5 awaiting records (accounts to prepare) - 1 of which is new
2 awaiting tax info (interest etc)
2 partnerships to start - both new
3 Ltd Co's awaiting signed copies (Accounts to file @ CH by 31 Jan)
3 awaiting signed ITR's
All in all not too bad.
Hopefully the rest of you are doing well and we can all sit back come 30/31 weekend. Well there is wishful thinking!

still not got any clients .......... really not sure where to start in getting some either, but only been in busy since jan....0
-
1 still awaiting paperwork, been promised it today, still waiting
6 awaiting signature then can file
2 new ones to start
Main hurdle is being both employed and self employed I am at work 3 days next week, and on site for a client 1 day. Better get on with it!0 -
Panic set in on 1st January; as I had taken on a total house refurb for my son I was doing that over Christmas and New Year and didn't do any accounts or tax work but it's all starting to move in the right direction now ...
2 partnerships to file - awaiting a UTR number on one!!!
9 inidividual SA's to file - most of the work is done on 5 of these just tidying up queries with clients ... the other 4 - 1 existing client is always late but this year only has pension income as the business ceased last year and the other 3 are late entries (new clients) and silly me I said yes no problem.
I usually file on line using the Revenue free software but as a backup I have just purchased commercial software to file 5 individual SA returns which was only Β£17 bargain - I have passed this cost on to the new clients just incase I don't get agent authorisation in time.
In the meantime the last 2 weeks have been up at 6am work on private clients, off to my day job 'til 5pm, home eat and finishing the DIY projects - good news is the house is totally refurbed from top to bottom and moving in starts tomorrow - phew!!
28th is my final work day then I fly off to my house in Spain for a week for a well earned rest.
Next year I promise myself I'll be more organised and have everything done before Christmas ... watch this space ...

Vonni, what was the software you bought? It's very inexpensive, have you used it yet?0

One in the process - might be in on time.
One waiting for information - will not be in on time.
One obviously not going to bother at all!
Not too bad really.0 -
According to the board on the wall we have 303 still to lodge...0
-
At work as far as i understand 100+ to do0
-
10 to go..
Whether the information arrives or not is another question!
Pretty good going really. Much better than last year.0 -
39 to do and 35 done waiting to be signed.
What is it about self employed with a 5 Apr year end that they wait until 22 Jan to bring in books after ignoring phone calls and letters from 1 Dec.
They will all be done, presuming they all bring there records and return the signed returns.
I have decided to treat the wife and kids to a nice break at Alton Towers half term after being at the office 12 - 15 hours per day for 3 weeks of Jan.0 -
I am very pushy with my clients and insist that their accounts are in early. the earlier I do the work, the sooner they know how much, if anything, that they have to save up to pay in January!0
-
We've just recently introduced a 3 tier fee,
X amount if it's in before a certain date (early) so smaller fee
X amount if it's in 'in the middle'
and X amount if it's in Jan (higher fee)
Sees to have worked as most are now bringing it in early..0 -
14 left to complete (most are nearly there)
and one who's not brought me any info yet.
and about 5 VAT returns.
Do-able I hope.0 -
I have taken on 5 new clients in the last week who all need tax returns doing before 31st Jan - 2 of them have incomplete records, which I guess is par for the course at this time of year! Hopefully there won't be anymore this week! Maybe I just need to learn to say NO?!
Apart from the last minute stragglers, I have 6 tax returns still to file (all are with clients for signature) and 6 VAT Returns, so should be OK.
Best of luck to everyone!0 -
At this point
12 out waiting signature
3 in last week - to do
2 booked to come in today - small so should get done
1 keeps phoning to saying that he is writing up his books LOL
5 no contact from, despite letters, still showing on my agent page with having had request to file issued, so they will be paying a fine!!
1 VAT return left to do...... mine )and some payroll
Not as bad as I thought it would be0
