Checking cash-flow statements

Hi folks,
Could anybody tell me if there is a way to double check whether the balances on a cash-flow are correct? (Sorry, only on 3rd week of CMCC).

The month by month total receipts should be equal to the total column total receipts.
The same applies to total payments
If both agree the net cash flow (movement) will automatically agree

Closing balance for final month should = closing balance for total period
