Choice of AAT units

A colleague who was unfortunateley unsuccessful on two occasions with the PEV exam asked me for advice. My colleague is only one unit away from being AAT qualified, having previously passed all units through foundation, intermediate and Technician stages. Would it be possible do an exam in a different unit, ie personal taxation which is offered at a different college? Are there any stipulations as to which units have to be covered or can one select from any of the units available and thus become fully AAT qualified.
Could anyone advise on this please? Thank you.

PEV is a mandatory unit
Sorry, to pass AAT your colleague will have to pass PEV
The tax audit and cash management units are the options.Sandy
