Just a quick question....

I was wondering whether I am 'allowed' to do people's accounts and tax returns for them yet? I have passed my business tax paper and will hopefully be AAT Technician qualified after my last exam sittings in June 10.

I have been asked by a few people but technically Im not sure if i have to wait until I am signed off as AAT Technician qualified??

Any help or thoughts would be great

many thanks

Doing accounts and tax returns for unincorporated businesses and self-assessment returns can be done by anyone provided he/she is wanted by a client.
Claiming a qualification is only possible once you've been awarded that qualification.

You can do accounts but don't say you are MAAT until you are.

Thats brilliant thank you. I did think that was probably the case and no def would never claim to be fully qualified unless I was :)

I believe the jist of the AAT wording is you can do anything as long as you have the suitable skills and experience, that you do not take on anything you are uncapable of, and that you don't mention the AAT til you are qualified. :)

Going totally off topic (hey it looks like the threads been answered anyway and I hope the OP won't mind!) but it's a damn shame those rules don't apply to having children.
